Let take this opportunity and express my sincerely dissapointed with Department of Education and partners involved with celebration of International Mother Tongue day. I'm much sure very few people aware about the cebration of the day.
Who ever is responsible for this day has not done the marketing aspect and public relations factor to make it know to the public at large. Howver i'm entirely correct that the education department is largely responsible for international mother tounge day.
I feel it, it very important for us as the young generation and developing country know very well about the day. It happened by luck that, i was on the emailing list of chain has beens circulating around to friends. Being a PR student, i really do not think media has been brief at all about the mother tougue celebration.
There so many ways that could have been used to market it in all sort of madia related. In nowday we have social networks such facebook, twitter etc. Just to create a hype around the celebrate. I have send an proposal email for next celebration of the day to ensure people became aware about it.
See you late.

Two people come out of a building and into a story.
A monther and daughter walk out school with jubilant and approaching the brigde, after receiving her top result matric to register for her first year. They were still excited and fascinating with top achiviement and the dream come true.
They were suddenly disturbed by two thugs who come across and grab the handbag run away from them. The daugher and the mother are now chasing the two suspect to get the bag back to thier own hands. In a split seconds a promisng dream of educating herself became a nightmare unxpected. One of the man who pretend to be asking directions instructed the mother to volunteery hand over the bag without being hurt.
With no out hesitation , the mother, who realises that the life of both of them was far more valuable, hands over the bag containing the future of her child and perhaps the next minister of our country. The robbers run off into the crowd, leaving the two devastated women in shock. I'm sitting and thinking, have they gone an hour ago or thirty minutes late, the two rubbers would have manage to destroy the life of the young lady and mother's last hope.

Local Government elections
Evening classmates and friends
With two months left before Local Government elections conutry wide. I envisage the politicians knocking in our doors day and night encouraging us to vote for them or certain party. I'm sure you have seen posters on your streets light haning ,free ways and main road. I bet with my last two cents in the next few months to come in our local media, they will reporting about politics until the finally result. We will be bombarded with manifestos of various parties and promised decent jobs, decent houses, decrease of crime, free education and decent health etc.
For me there two province will be interesting for this up coming elections: Kwa-Zulu Natal and Western Cape , Democractic Alliance (D.A) is the ruling party and governing the Western Cape for the past two years and half. The ANC is also want to win the Western Cape back and voting colours.
KZN is governed by ANC and the IFP was a strong opposite party, but with the birth of Freedom National Party in KZN is going to highly constested province. The most supporters or disgranted members of IFP have cross the floor to find a new home with their former national chairperson Zanele-Magwaza- Msibi to start a new party, which is seen as the threat to IFP. The FNP has been tip as the second most popular party in KZN after the ANC. I wish to say lets wait and see what will happened after the election. I feel is still early to forget about the IFP in Kwazulu Natal as their have a strong there and the people who have decided to follow Ms Magwaza- Msibi were angry they IFP leaders treated the national chairperson of the party.
Good night.

Anna Majava blacklisted
Good Evening members
A Sowetan journalist by the name Anna Majava was immediately blaclisted by D.A last week thursday with allegation of political agenda and critising Democratic Alliance government, when she is writing articles. Being a PR student and the journalist by profession,it was very disturbing. I mean D.A and other organisation were against the meida tribunal that was proposed by ANC government late last year. I was also personally against.
However i am shattered with D.A blacklist of journalist,if our government blacklist jounalist, writers and political commententors as former president Thabo Mbeki did business day politcal writer and John Perman of SAFM. It means that, we are being deprive the right to learn and empower ourself with what is happening around South Africa and the world. It for this reason, i voice my concern with blacklisted journalist in our counrty. As future public relations guru and writers of this counrty, i want to call up media industry not to allow the political parties to rule the South Africa media. The same government and political parties when they want to convey the message to the public, we are first being called.
Regards
Vumile
