black people do not tip

I have had about the notion of black people do not like to tip waitress, car guards, petrol attendence etc. I over heard again on Metrofm one of the popular Radio station in South Africa making it as a joke. We once engaged in this topic in my maiden year couple of years ago with other group of students. The debate became very nasty or hot there were passing marks along racial line.

Coming back to the issue at hand, before i loose the content of my topic. People called in to express their views about topic and most people who called in were black people, parhaps two or three white and colour. However most black people disagreed with idea describing as the rubbish to discredit black people.

The non- black group agreed with topic and one who refused to identified herself said where she used work black people literally do not tip, even if you have given them a great service they will just say thank and left without tipping you. One gentleman who happened to take his family once a week, was angered with the accusation towards black people.

He said the reason he does not tip simple because the waitress turn to demand the tip and he knows very well that he is not obliged as they get their own salary end o the month. I also disagreed with the whole thing abodaki does not tip, black people do tip, it depends on the person on the day, if is in mood. Off course its bad not to tip the person as it encourage to tip her or him. But its your own call at end of the day.

Black wednesday

When i had about the death of 15 school kids travelling with bus yesteday monring in Knysna,  i was very devestated immediately i thought about the parents who had hope to see thier kids later.
It was very sad day to the families of direct immediate families, friends, clasmates, teachers and entire South Africa.
I could not sleep last night, as i keep on thinking about the accident kiling innocent engels. However thanks GOD you did not take them all. It will take time and difficult to erase the bad memory in their minds and heart as long as they don't take them for counselling.

If the reports, i saw in the Cape Argus is anything to go by that the probe will begin, if  the bus had overload were road compliant and have been tested regulary.  Apparently president Zuma, his cabinet ministers, Premier Helen Zilli, members of provincial legislature, Mayor De Lille and ordinary South Africans have been sending their message of support and condolences to the families.

On twitter, people offered thier condolences to the victims families and others expressd their anger at news.  An editor of Cape Argus opinion he suggest that it was Black August, as smilar incident happened six years ago, when schools kids died when the bus crashed on Kloof Nek Road. I agreed with editor.

How hard is it to follow intructions?

Honestly, following instruction is actually very difficult indeed, irrespective of how old or how young you are.  A friend reported last year that one of the comments on her daughter’s primary school report read:  “M has finally learnt to follow instructions.”

This is actually a remarkable achievement, and not one that I have mastered yet.  I find that there is a strong link between not following instructions and critical thinking.  It is clear to me that critical thinking and blind obedience are mutually exclusive.

I have never in my life been in a situation where blind obedience was beneficial. Aah yes, the malady of blind obedience. Let us count the ways it hurts us.
I find it particularly difficult to follow instructions that are arbitrary, or somer.  That is the critical part of my brain).

I want to know why I must do something, I want to understand the terms and conditions, the limitations of the instruction, but primarily I need to know why
I find it difficult to follow instructions that are not universally applied.  I find it difficult to follow instructions that invade my boundaries, intrude upon my sense of self and privacy. Infringements into my space always generate outrage (and in some instance a tantrum or two).  My response is, and will always be.

I'm feeling the heat

The pressure on colleagues, friends and classmates. Since we have returned to tech for this term the heat has amounting from all three subjects. On other side my department have employed a new female boss, so it our duty to hand over all the work to her.

I'm exhausted already,I'm strugging to wake up in the morning to work because, i'm tired. Its not easy to study and work in the same time as it drains you big time. But its a choice we have made for our future and for our families. I have not been twitting and blogging for the above reasons. Even though, i'm feeling the heat, but i'm not yet to give up and its too late now.

I have put lot of effort in this course to successed. This international communication assignment and summaries took most of my time trying by all means to make them right. Bear in mind that, there is other assignment on the line, such P.R and Media studies they are due same day, so it does give you much time to prepared for other up coming assignements.

Proff Narvana once said, we are left with three month to go before, we say good bye tech see you in 2012. It sounded as if is around the corner and there is no much in between. I think she was right and she worned us about lot of hard work ahead of us.I'm one of the students who took her for granted when she pronounced it on the class.

I'm very traumatise

After i saw the video of the those two governmnet employees, i was so traumatise and shocked. I do not know where to start to express my disappointed to this horible individuals, i'm extremely unpappy with this reckless behaviour. If it happened that i used vulgar language please forgive me.

Yes some married people do committe such mistakes, but not all do engaged in adultery behaviour out of thier marrige in a decent way, its a reality, we cannot run away the truth. I still can't figure out, what was going on to their mind, when they indulge in sex public knowing that they are still on duty and married.

However clearly this people decided to go ahead despite their circumstances in that particular time and place. The worse senario of the whole saga, it was a full view colleagues. Perhaps if they were so desparetly to have sex, why not get a cheap Bed and Breakfast or friends house one for all.

The big question for families and kids, Do they forgive my their partners or do they let it go? It is going to be very difficult decision to take especially for kids. I'm very sorry for those kids and families involved. It will be extremely a difficult decision to over come and trust one another for the next few decades, i promised you. sad story especilly for close families, kids, friends and colleagues. Sad story

Municipal strike is devastating

Yes I agreed people have a right to strike, when they felt that their demands have been meet by thier employees. But why damages other peopple's property such cars, shops, business and government properties and cars.

They are looting the public and destroying everything in the street uneccessary. These people are nothing, but scavangers openly stealing from innocent vendors.

The strikers were disgusting, thieving thugs. They can obviously afford to buy food if they were hungry to that extent. This disgruntled SAMWU members raised thier voices about big gaps between them and high earners, but what was seen was the total uncceptable.

I feel the bosses of the union must be held accountable for the action of thier members. I notice yesterday that the Cape Argus has reported that the City of Cape Town is intending to use CCTV to arrest those hooligans. I can't wait to see the result of it.

In the future everybody will be word famous for 15 minutes.

In the future everybody will be world famous for 15 minutes.
There are two things that cross to my mind, when mention about being famous for fifteen minutes, media builds you or destroy. What happens to the people who unwittingly find themselves at the center of a media attraction?
I never wanted to be celebrate in my life and I wish not to have a close family or a friend who happened to be a media person. There is number of things you need to consider, such as looking good, who you date, your behavior, what you said, what are you driving, what you wear, your house, education background and who do you mix with etc. It comes with lots of pressure from the media.

The most difficult thing for me in all of this. “In future everybody will be world famous fifteen minutes” The envision of privacy from the media people. They write white lies, selling stories about so call public figure and celebrates. It broke my heart, when media report with something not need concern public, I have a huge problem. Remember Diana Princes of Wales who died on car accident in1997 media were too blamed for her death.  I was feeling emotional and sad I couldn't trust media people anymore.

Eric Myeni was out of order

I have been think and analysing why Mr Eric Myeni decided to attacked and swear to the editor of City press Ms Ferial Haffajee after publishing Ratanag trust about Julius Malema the president ANCYL. I believed he could have made his point clear beside what he wrote. In case you have not yet seen the article.

SEE THE ARTICLE BELOW.

If he feels very strongly that City press and Haffage are out to destroy black business emarging young people and are anti-ANC why used aparthied words to address her and associate her with a black snake in grass. I'm very disappointed with Eric Myeni, there was absolutely no need of him to be so horrible with Haffaje. I have thought the old days of regime have come and gone to thus far.

Mr Myeni should have known better as the developing nations and with its history of aparthied, we did not need to be remainded of burning tyre around neck. We had families who lost they loved ones during this riots and its has not completely healed.  As much as he has been fired by Sowetan Newspaper for what he wrote about the editor of City press.

I feel the newspaper its should have seen the article was a defamation of charactor, where was the news editor and the editor. They might sent out an statement apologise to her and City press, but the damage has been done already. There is a feeling among media circles that Mr Myeni was merely defending Mr Malema image and intergrity nothing else, but he used a wrong platform to do. I support Ferial Haffaje to consider a legal opinion about the matter.

Rock journalist

Rock journalism involves people who can't write, interviewing people who can't talk, for people who can't read". Image journalist can’t write and interview people. It should be declared a disgrace journalist.
If it’s true what Frank Zappa said about Rock journalist, I understand why people always attacked journalist as being lies and cooked stories. Noticeable people are politicians who always blamed media or journalist for not reporting accurate.

I’ve recently been pondering the profession of rock criticism.  Do not underestimate, gentle rocker, the power of the rock press and the incredible influence we rock critics wield, whither rock scholars, knowing critics or buck-a-word scribes.
So how did I manage this, some would say, difficult task?  Well, let’s just say, having been there I know my rock.

When I tried to think about the rock journalism as people who can’t write interviewing people who can’t talk for people who can’t read, it was an embarrassment. Any journalist should be able to write about anything as they have trained for so many years and have necessary experience.

I have been told by many a readers that most of the highly-regarded rock journalists are whites journalist because they understand rock as music before became rock journalist debt. I would like to point out that I am not the self-appointed Rock Critics it is merely my peers have thus anointed me.
