If I were boss

If I were boss
My current manager or supervisor is fairly new in government fresh from private sector and he does not understand the policies and the bureaucracy and red-tape of government, how it works he has absolutely clueless. If I had a liberty to mention his former employees, I would gladly mention it. I prefer not too for the sake legalities.
The problem about him is not prepared to listen and learn to the subordinate, which is biggest mistake and I think he is plotting his own down fall or grave.  However if things are not going well in his presence, he easy gets angry to his /her staff is leading. He does not provide any solution instead he creates more problems in full view of other stakeholders.  I made it a point a do not argue with a big man or back chat. All did was to ensure is happy by providing the solution on the spot. It was difficult to approach him with your personal problem any given time.
If I were boss
I would ensure that I respect and listen my subordinate for the sake of progress and good relationship among the staff. They you earn respect you don’t demand it. By the virtue of being an employee of any organisation automatically you became an adult, so you have no right to blunt as if you are dealing with primary schools kinds.
If I were boss
I was going to create a hype for staff members by organising team building once a month especial on Fridays to create the unity and sense of belonging. Let the staff feel free to engage with you in number of issue relating to the work and personal issue. Remember you spend more hours at work than at home, so it is important that you have open door policy for every staff members. But more importantly the work is come first and the bucks stop with you.
Good topic.

  1. You would make a great boss, especially when you engage with your staff and let them participate so that you can get feedback as to progress. I would want to work for you:)
