I want to take off my hat for Gift of the Givers, Cape Argus, BP, Unilever for thier Operation Warm Hearts for volunteer giving hand out blankets, food, nappies, clothings, toys and cleaning materials to residents around the province for Old Age homes, Aids orphans and destute communities. We have seen how people were badly affected by the winter floods and our government cannot do it lonely. It is for this reason, i'm calling upon business people and politicians being patriotic capetonians.
The Operation Warm Hearts is a joint initiative for in association with other partners which distributing food for the poor of the poorest. Gift of the Givers is a Non profit organisation who has been on the for front for the past few yeatrs assisting locally, national and international disaster recently they visited Japan to help out. This initiative it reminds me of Mandela Day, to be done throught the year. Unlike the celebrates and politician who only does for Mandela and the publicity.
I want to call upon all South Africans to follow the suite not only devote thier time on the 18th July when is Madiba's birthday. It should be a daily campaign for the poor of the poorest of this country.I mean we have wealth people in this country who can volunteer donate food, clothing and shoes etc. Madiba has laid the foundation for us to follow his footsteps to help one another and show "UBUNTU" whcih i think is the most lacking in our diversity country. I therefore encourage the Mandela Day to be carried out every day of our life and assist the aboved mentioned companies who have showned us the way to go. BE PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICA AND LEAD SA INITIATIVE.

I think thats an excellent idea. Organisations shouldnt just make donations and contributions for the public eye but for the good of poor communities.
